2010 album out soon, 2009 recap.

With feverish effort, we've been hacking away at the first 6 songs of the next album.   I am excited to say, we are very close to completion.  These first 6 songs will be released digitally thru itunes and everything else while we work on the next 6.  Paul & Colin just finished up back up vocals this week and now all that is left are a few small nuances and mix down.

2009 was a good year for Lipriddle.  This year we really got a chance to get out and play a lot of shows.  We made the decision in 08 that we wanted to play more and in front of more people.  After working up a bunch of cover material that we thought would keep a show moving and help highlight our original material, the calls started filtering in.  We'll try anything once, which over the years has landed us some extremely  fun and interesting shows.  From block parties, to Jerry's Bait Shop, to the Amercian Royal BBQ, The Plaza, The Legends, Salina, KS and so on.

This year one main focus is to put in the kind of time we need to put out a great album.  We've learned a lot and hopefully can capture our experiences on the recording.

The biggest thing we are thankful for is all the great people that we have gotten to meet thruout this last run.  2010's dates are coming in and it looks to be even better than last year.  We'll keep you posted.

Oh yea, I'll be paying more attention to this page, so stay tuned and please sign up on our guest book and email list.

Come on, it's Valentines, give her some Lip!

Just a few days ago, Lipriddle opened for No Parking at Mulligans. Talk about a good time. The place was packed both nights with friends, family, and lots of other good folk. We started both nights at 8:30 which normally would be early but the crowd started showing up at 7:30. Word really spread fast about this one. Facebook was going nuts about 1 week out.

February has got a lot going on in the riddle arena. The 1st date coming up is Valentines day at the Double Nickel Bar and Grill. Nothing better than "Given her some lip" at a Lipriddle show. It just makes sense. So here's how I see it. You can make resevations at some ritzy place and go hang out with all the other smoozers doing the same thing or...really impress your lady friend by showing her what love is all about at a Lipriddle show. I mean we won't being playing any Barry White, but all in all, I think you'll be happy.

Make sure to check out he calender for February. There are 4 really cool venues we are booked at and would love to hangout with you at any or all of them.

That's all we got!

Give em some lip!

What we did last night / what's coming up

It's our 1st blog of the new year and the new website.  Guess it's time.  Last  night we enjoyed the presence of old and new friends at a new venue for us.  The Black Creek Coffee House is not just your typical coffee house.  These guys are set up well for bands.  Ron who has a musical history off his own,  did it up right when putting together the house p.a. system which makes it great for acts to show up with our gear,  plug in and go.

Up next for the Lip crew is the opening spot for the next No Parking dates at Mulligan's in Olathe, KS.  Before I go any further, it's time for a brief history lesson.  Paul and I along with 3 other guys named Howard, Eddie and John played for years and I mean years, all over the country with the band No Parking.  We had the time of our lives and got to open for a lot of national acts back in the day.  A few years back we thought it would be fun to get together every so often and do shows, probably mostly because we like hanging out with each other.  Long story short, one of those is coming up Jan 23 and 24 at Mulligan's.  It also happens to be Mulligan's 5 year anniversary.

So here's how it's going to work, Lipriddle will play at 8:30 pm for one set and No Parking will go on after and play until 1:30 am.  And then we do it all over again on Saturday.  And then, speaking personally, I'll spend the next 3 days recovering.   These shows seriously mess with my 10 pm bedtime.  (Man that sounds lame when I read it back.)  It'll be loud and crazy and worth every minute.  So if you wantta get the 80's out of your system for a while, this will be the place to do it.  Check the website "event" section for more details.

Don't forget, "Give em some lip!"

Just say it will ya?
